The Holy Name Society dates its’ start to 1274 and was introduced to North America in 1896. Most people know us in our Parish for running the best Fish Fry’s in the area! This is very true, but the St. John the Baptist Holy Name Society is so much more. Proceeds from our fish fries allow us to serve so many in our community. Examples include providing financial support to various local organizations, such as Rosary Sodality, the Franciscans, the Bi-Annual St. John's Gala, Destination Imagination, and Parish Eagle Scouts. Beyond financial assistance, Holy Name members sponsor the Spring and Fall Parish Clean-Up Events, which typically involve a project to improve the parish grounds or church building. We co-host the Chili Cook-Off Event to support the St. Vincent de Paul Society. We provide manpower when called upon to help keep our Cemetery grounds in top shape. Essentially, we are a group of men that pray together, volunteer our time together, and genuinely care about the betterment of the St. John the Baptist Parish Community. Please come see what we’re about! Call the parish office for more information, or to reach a Holy Name member, at 260-493-4553.
