Our academic day begins at 7:50 a.m. Student drop-off precedes at 7:35 a.m., and our before-care program opens as early as 7:00 a.m. At 7:50, all students begin with homeroom, including morning prayer and pledge, attendance, and any daily announcements. We celebrate all student birthdays throughout the year at this time.
Our school then runs 8 academic periods, of 45 minutes each; however, for grades Pre-K-5, classes are self-contained and may adjust these times, except for special area subjects. Language arts, including language and literature, is a double period, for 90 minutes each day. Daily subjects for all grades include language arts, math, religion, science, and social studies (6 class periods total). One period is reserved for recess and lunch. The remaining period is devoted to special area classes. Special area classes include gym, art, music, library, and our maker/computer lab.
On Tuesdays and Fridays, we have school mass from 8:10-9:00 a.m. All school days, except for Wednesday, allow for a study hall in the afternoon, for students to meet with teachers, receive extension activities, or get caught up on anything they may not have fully understood earlier. Dismissal time runs approximately 2:35-3:00 each day except for Wednesdays. On Wednesdays throughout the year, we have early dismissal from 2:05-2:35. This follows EACS schedule for buses, and allows faculty collaboration time, giving our teachers time to work together in various committees and teams.
Half-day Pre-K dismisses at approximately 11:20 a.m. daily. Please see our Pre-K tab for more info.
We proudly offer aftercare running until 5:45 p.m. Some of our students may alternatively engage in a sport or club following dismissal. Please see our athletics, clubs, and activities, or before and after care links for more information.
